Worthy of Love, founded in 2013 and based in Los Angeles, is a non-profit organization which strives to bring hope to children experiencing homelessness. Worthy of Love believes that children deserve to be reminded of their value, potential, and ability to pursue their dreams, by showing them they are worthy of love. Every month, Worthy of Love organizes and hosts a birthday celebration which allows deprived children a temporary escape from the stress associated with not having a place to call home. At every party, Worthy of Love celebrates the birthday of any child born that particular month, while all other children and parents are also invited to attend and join in the fun. The Worthy of Love parties include music, dancing, games, party favors, food, gifts, and best of all, Skiddy Cat, the loving and cuddly Skid Row mascot who visits each party to share hugs, high fives and dance moves. The Worthy of Love goal is to offer homeless children a night they will never forget, as the residents of the shelter step into a world filled with love, laughter, acceptance and possibility.
